Black Night

Hey! I like the piece as sleeping nudes are classics and favs of mine. Now, a black and white sleeping nude is all well and good, no points for originality, but not everything needs to be original anyway= nice.

All in all, there is nothing terribly wrong with the picture, though the framing could have been better planned. Having her eye level at exactly half of the page sections it off in a stark manner. Making it 1/3 or 2/3s up gets you closer to the golden mean which is naturally pleasing to look at. Also, the portrait format makes it look boxed in and uncomfortable, along with the huge amount of negetive space at the top, which competes with the fact that the figure is supposed to be relaxed, so we don't feel that as viewers. Still, your focal point is obvious, which is great, and the subject is very pretty.

I just can't help but think that a rule-of-thirds designed landscape shot would have worked better for you.
